I grew up in Palo Alto, California. As a kid, I loved to play baseball and piano, and I give my mom full credit for signing me up for T-ball and group piano lessons at age six. As fun as baseball was, it didn’t compare to my love for music, and I was soon engrossed in the classic rock vinyl my older siblings had lying around the house, especially the Chicago IX and Hot Streets albums! My favorite memory is playing Colour My World with my sister, who covered the flute solo. I think of her every time we play that song.
I was classically trained and then continued studies in ragtime, blues, rock, gospel and R&B. After moving to Los Angeles, I spent several years writing and recording my own material, as well as working as Musical Director with new talent including Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. My solo work includes a collection of original music as well as two instructional books.
My touring career began with Hilary Duff and then Taylor Hicks, and I am proud to have played the amazing music of The Who since 2009. I have also enjoyed working with other amazing artists including Roger Daltrey, Kenny Loggins, Don Felder, Eddie Vedder, Natalie Maines, Rita Wilson, Mandy Moore, Huey Lewis, Trace Adkins, Steve Winwood, and Melissa Etheridge.
My concert DVD’s include Quadrophenia Live in London, The Who in Hyde Park, The Who Tommy Live at Royal Albert Hall, The Who Live at the Isle of Wight Festival and Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi All Night Live at Mt Fuji. Television appearances include The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Oprah Winfrey, Jimmy Kimmel, and The Ellen Show.
It is a true honor to play from the Chicago catalog and share the stage with such fabulous musicians. My job never gets old, and I always try to bring something special to each performance.
