Brian Wilson: In Memoriam

We are terribly saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend Brian Wilson, a master songwriter and musician, and a founding member of The Beach Boys. Brian is an icon in the music industry and his talents will be celebrated and studied for years to come.

Chicago’s friendship with The Beach Boys dates back to 1974 when Chicago and The Beach Boys were both recording at the fabled Caribou Ranch. While there, several members of The Beach Boys joined Chicago to record the distinctive harmony vocals on Chicago’s hit song “Wishing You Were Here.” The two bands teamed up the following year (1975) for a joint tour dubbed “Beachago”. The tour was so successful the two bands joined forces again in 1989 for Beachago II.

Chicago was privileged to tour with Brian Wilson and his band once more for Brian’s final tour in 2022. Brian celebrated his 80th birthday while on that tour.

Chicago and their management sends it heartfelt condolences to the Wilson family and to all of those who love him and the gifts he shared with us all.
