Chicago played the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL on Sunday, June 18th where they hosted the Roberts family as their guests.
The Roberts family’s lives were dramatically impacted when then 8-year-old Cooper was shot in the back during the July 4 parade in Highland Park in last year. Cooper is now paralyzed from the waist down, he will need a new / upgraded wheelchair each time he grows a few inches until he is fully grown.
The band invited the family backstage prior to the show and made a financial donation as well as gifting the twin boys (Cooper and twin brother Luke) each signed guitars. The band members along with manager Peter Schivarelli have been very moved by the family’s experience and wanted to make a donation to assist the family with the extensive costs incurred by their recovery journey.
